A Note From Our Founder

“Casita Prado is is a reflection of my journey as a designer, mother, and granddaughter…inspired by my grandmother, G. Prado, who migrated to the United States from Ecuador. This brand carries her name and honors her legacy of resilience, resourcefulness, and creativity.”

My love for fashion started when I was young, sitting beside my grandmother as she re-purposed old clothes into quilts, doll clothes, and new garments. She taught me more than how to sew; she showed me what intention, sustainability, and imagination look like, and how creativity often comes from reworking what already exists.

After spending years in corporate America, I saw how much the fashion industry lacked cultural competence and truly sustainable practices. I gained valuable experience, but I also realized that the kind of space I wanted to build didn’t exist yet. That clarity pushed me to create Casita Prado, a brand shaped by community, culture, and purpose.

Casita Prado blends sustainability with the bold spirit of streetwear. We use deadstock fabrics for our garments and incorporate fabric remnants throughout other aspects of our work, collaborate with local Latine artists, and keep every part of the process within our local community. This includes designing, sewing, and screen-printing. By supporting a circular economy, we create pieces that carry intention and speak to empowerment and connection.

This brand is my way of honoring my younger self, my children, and the children who will grow up in the world we’re shaping. It’s a promise to keep working toward a future that feels more sustainable, more inclusive, and more just. Thank you for being part of this journey.
